Filtru guides the brewer through the moment when both hands are occupied. A method-specific timer shows when to bloom, pour, stir, wait or press, while a connected scale can display target weight, actual weight and flow rate. Recipes cover major pour-over devices, immersion methods, AeroPress and espresso. Saved beans, shot parameters, tasting notes and brew graphs create a record for the next adjustment. VoiceOver support, spoken scale readouts and readable-font options make the app unusually considerate of different users.

The current application is limited to recent iPhone and iPad systems, leaving Android users outside its main workflow. Some advanced logging and analysis require Filtru Pro, and Bluetooth reliability ultimately depends on the scale as well as the app. A guided recipe also cannot account for every grinder, roast age or water profile. Filtru works best as a calm execution and memory aid: it helps repeat a process, but the decision about what to change should still come from tasting the cup.
