Azgaar's Fantasy Map Generator

Azgaar's generator can produce a continent in seconds, but its real strength begins after generation. The map contains editable layers for elevation, biomes, rivers, cultures, religions, states, provinces, settlements, routes and military or demographic information. Users can redraw boundaries, change labels, measure distance, alter style and save the underlying project for later work. SVG, PNG and JPEG exports make the result useful in a campaign handout or publishing workflow, while the open-source code and permissive output policy lower barriers for experimentation.

Procedural detail can create a false sense of completeness. Coastlines, climates and political borders may look convincing without following the history or physical processes of the intended world. Dense controls are also intimidating until the user learns which layers matter. Saving the editable map file is essential because a flattened image cannot recover the simulation. Azgaar is best treated as a rapid geographic hypothesis: generate structure, interrogate implausible areas, and revise it in service of the setting rather than accepting every label as canon.
