Editorial overview
AqAdvisor lets an aquarist assemble a proposed community before buying the animals. Tank dimensions and filter choice establish the setup, then fish or invertebrates are added by species and quantity. The result estimates stocking and filtration, proposes a water-change schedule, displays overlapping temperature, pH and hardness ranges, and raises notes about aggression, shoal size or predation. Freshwater and saltwater advisors are separated, and adult size can be used to avoid judging only the juveniles seen in a shop.
The percentage is a screening device, not a biological carrying-capacity measurement. Plant mass, feeding, maintenance consistency, individual temperament, oxygen exchange and the effective performance of an aging filter are difficult to compress into one number. AqAdvisor also publishes little about its model or revision process, so an old or unusual species record deserves a second source. Use its warnings to reject obviously poor combinations and frame further research; do not interpret a result below 100 percent as permission to add every selected animal.
