Alliance for Coffee Excellence

Alliance for Coffee Excellence records what happens after a producer enters Cup of Excellence. Competition pages identify winning farms, lots, varieties, processes and scores; auction results add bidders and final prices; a current calendar shows sample and sale dates across origins. The published method describes coded samples, national and international juries and repeated blind evaluation, with top coffees tasted many times before auction. This traceability makes the database valuable for studying recognition and price formation rather than repeating a headline about an expensive lot.

Cup of Excellence is deliberately selective. Winning prices do not represent the income of an average farmer, and small lot size, rarity, buyer marketing and auction competition can amplify a result. Scores from different years or origins should not be treated as perfectly interchangeable without protocol context. The site also includes private collection auctions that are explicitly not Cup of Excellence programs. ACE is the right primary source for its competitions, but broader market conclusions require volume, costs and nonwinning producers alongside the celebrated results.
